A new year at bake-a-boo
Yesterday was bake-a-boo’s offical birthday.
Four years to the day since we opened, and my how time has flown by. Many many cakes, pots of tea, smiles, tears, and a cookbook later, suddenly four years have passed us by!
bake-a-boo has always been my baby, I have put my heart and soul into it every day so when I look back at the last four years, at the ups and downs and the people who have been a part of me building this little pink empire who have come and gone, it’s all very strange. I have met so many wonderful people along this journey and I am grateful for all the friendly faces, the support and the lovely cards people send me to thank me for cakes and tea parties they have enjoyed.
No matter how bad a day it is – even just the days when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed – walking into bake-a-boo every morning always makes me say ‘there’s nowhere else I’d rather be’ and I’m proud. It’s a lovely place to spend every day.
Anyway – we have been celebrating bake-a-boo’s birthday all weekend and we all dressed up in silver tutu’s a fairy wings (any excuse to get the fairy wings out!!!) and ‘happy birthday bake-a-boo’ t-shirts. We had a few competitions and prize giveaways in the shop which people enjoyed.
We had also blogged that if anyone came in all dressed in pink then they would win a prize – so perhaps the highlight of my weekend was when one of my FAVOURITE West Hampstead yummy families came in – all four of them dressed in pink – especially little Rish who had a pink fairy dress on and fairy wings!! did she know it was a fairy wing weekend at bake-a-boo?? So of course they all had to get a prize and then Rish, Cooper and I played a few games too – which involved them feeding me pretend crisp sandwiches! If only they were real!
Princess Rish my little fairy! Thank you Clayton for this picture! x
So all in all we have had a fun weekend and I am very much looking forward to year five of the bake-a-boo story and where the next 365 days will take us.
Happy Birthday bake-a-boo xxx
