Halloween at bake-a-boo
Last weekend we celebrated halloween at bake-a-boo. Lovely Kate who works in our shop was very excited about Halloween, as she is from Australia where they do not celebrate halloween at all, so it was all new and exciting to her! She did love it and did squeal with delight at the prospect of dressing up for the whole weekend – which gives me great joy to have a dressing up partner!
So Kate got into the halloween spirit and carved all the lovely pumkins for our window for the weekend, although despite all her excitement she did claim the decorations to be ‘ugly’ and didn’t like the fact that orange and black don’t really go with our pink and peachy decor!
Nevertheless we all enjoyed halloween and I had fun in my black wig which no one seemed to recognise me in! It was pretty funny watching all the peoples suprised faces as they did a double take!
We made spooky cupcakes with worms and spiders and eyeballs and witches hats and cats! we filled sweetie boxes with halloween sweeties and pumpkin cupcakes were definately the cupcake of the whole weekend! and we had much fun handing out sweets to all the lovely little trick or treaters on sunday evening after we closed.
On Monday we were sad to throw away the rapidly moulding pumkins!! and we took down the decorations and packed away our evil fairy tutu’s and wings! But we still paid homage to halloween by rounding off the weekend with a bowl of homemade pumkin soup! Yum.
Until Next year…………x
